Stats for Winter 2009-2010

Jeff's Notes….

Sharks dominate when tied or leading after the 2nd period with a 6 – 1 – 2 record this past season and 55 – 4 – 4 in the past 5 seasons combined.
On the other side of that stat the Sharks record was 2 – 10 – 0 when trailing after 2 this past season and are 15-26 -3 in the past 5 seasons

Sharks were fairly even in goals in the 1st and 3rd periods this season but were outscored by a wide margin in the 2nd (24 to 39).
Looking at the last 5 seasons the Sharks Goals For average was notably higher in
season 1 & 2, not so much higher in season 3, even in season 4, and trailing the opposition in season 5. A sure sign the team is ageing.

John Perry had the longest goal scoring steak with at least 1 in 7 straight games.

James Perry was the most efficient player averaging 1.24 goals and 2 points per game played

No surprise in John, James and Brian having the most game winners but Stock, Jordan and Cartwright each put in a single game winner each as well

Dave Steinman led the team in penalty minutes with 30 (twice as many as anyone else!) enough to bring him even with Rich for a 5 season total of 50 minutes each. I was betting on Mike Bailey.
